Another grandma visit

Our kids love having their grandparents visit, and they were spoiled to have two grandmas visit in a couple week span. This first part is them wandering around historic Tucson.

According to Chase the skyscraper in the background is one of the biggest in the whole world.

They also had the chance to go with Chase's preschool group to an old post office where they got to do all sorts of things that Sabrina could tell you about if she still blogged. Looks like fun though.

Parker got his post card stamped.

Odds and Ends

Here's a couple of pictures that just didn't fit anywhere else. The first is Adie for crazy hair day at school.

And here we are at halloween. Except it's not halloween, it's the beginning of April. And Chase dressed his toy dog up in a pea pod costume that Parker wore 2 years ago.

This is nothing more than a cool picture I took that you can see me in Sabrina's sunglasses. It's as close as I normally get to being in the picture.

Easter

Ahh, sweet Easter. Yet another holiday where we are supposed to buy more candy and share it with our children. Fortunately, Sabrina protected our children from the candy and saved it until she finished her feel great in 8 challenge.

For some reason, the Easter Bunny keeps coming. Here's this year's swag.

This is what an Easter Egg hunt looks like in Arizona. (Can you find the hidden eggs?)

This is the face of a kindergartener who just got busted having candy after she was told not to have any more.

A grandma trip

Grandma came and visited for a few days in March. She was glad to avoid the blizzards at her house. While she was here, it was so nice, we roasted marshmallows in the back yard one evening.

The kids dyed easter eggs with some help from Grandma.

This year Sabrina tried baking the eggs instead of boiling them. It went ok. If you zoom in, you can see speckles where the oil from the muffin tin adhered to the egg.

Grandma's phone is a lot better than other toys...

We went to the park as well. The kids had a lot of fun. Grandma brought a frisbee which was a big hit. Here's some of the highlights.

Yea, BYU cougars. That's Chase's team...

Disneyland, Day 3

If it looks like we were starting to wear out a little bit by the morning of day 3, that's correct, we were. This was the day we did Magic Morning. I'm glad we stopped for a minute to take our picture in front of the famous Mickey. It was much more crowded the rest of the day.

We did some trading throughout the day, as Sabrina and I both wanted to do rides that the kids wouldn't like (such as Star Tours). So, we found other things to do like hang out in Tomorrowland.

Go on trolley rides (again a favorite of Chase).

Hanging out the waterfalls was a favorite of both boys (I don't know why).

Parker and I waited while Sabrina took the other kids on Radiator Springs Racers. He was quite excited when Lightning McQueen drove by.

Towards the end of the day, we suffered a pretty major breakdown. However, just prior to that, some lady stopped us and said that she was doing random acts of kindness. She had 3 toys for a family with 3 kids and wanted to know if we would like them. I think Sabrina and I were both near tears in gratitude because we were both about done.

That night, I wandered the park by myself for a few hours picking up the last couple rides I wanted to do, including Radiator Springs Racers.

And of course, this is the sign you see right outside the park. My last memories of Disneyland...

Disneyland, Day 2

Day 2 was spent in Disneyland proper and started out with some time to see some more characters.

After that, Chase had a chance to drive the car at Autopia. Adie was really mad that Sabrina didn't let her drive too. It made for a bit of a bumpy ride being with Chase.

What trip to Disney would be complete without a little girl getting to see the Disney princesses? There's more of these, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Throughout the day, we managed to hit some of Chase's favorite rides, such as the monorail and the fire engine.

The highlight of the day for me was taking Parker to see Mickey. Parker loves all things Mickey (he has a stuffed one he sleeps with at night). And we stopped by Mickey's house in Toon town to say hello. After about a 20 minute wait in line, they ushered us into a room with 3 other families. We were last in line of the 4 and Parker flipped out as soon as he saw Mickey. He was practically in tears by the time it was his turn. He was totally stoked though, and I guess that's really why you take your kids when they're that age, because he loved it.

After stopping by Mickey's house, we got to watch the sound and light parade. Adie loved seeing Ariel (Adie wore her Ariel pajamas all day).
At that point, Sabrina took the boys home, and left Adie and me to wander the park a little bit more. She got the chance to choose what rides to go on with me. So, we rode the carousal a couple times, bought some Minnie Mouse ears, and headed back to the hotel room where we watched the fireworks in the park from.
