And He's 2

Almost 3 weeks ago, our little Baby Chase (who is so not a baby anymore, but I can't help but still call him that) turned 2. His birthday is 5 days after Parker's. Because we didn't know exactly when the new baby was going to come, we didn't plan much for his birthday and kind of played things by ear. It turns out, he got to have multiple birthday celebrations, especially because my mom was in town and we wanted to do a few birthday things with her before she left.

First, since Parker hadn't made his appearance yet, a week before Chase's birthday, we went to Jason's Deli for a little birthday mac 'n cheese dinner.

They even gave him a free brownie a la mode, but he would hardly touch it so the rest of it got to enjoy it.

He preferred the ice cream cone.

A satisfied customer.

The day before my mom left, which was a few days before Chase's actual birthday, we made cupcakes (ok, actually muffins, but they were still really good) and sang to him with the candles and all.

He had no problem gobbling his birthday muffin down.

Flashing his "2" sign.

After his birthday muffins, he got to open some gifts, a fire truck, which he was really excited about until...

...he opened his Cars Duplo set. He's been in love with that toy ever since, especially Mack.

Dad and Adie had fun helping him build his new set.

Grandma S gave him a train which he is also very happy with.
Adie was ready to party that night. She is all about wearing tons of necklaces and headbands.

My dad sent a toy bus, which he loves almost as much as Mack, and here he is telling Grandpa "thank you".

Grandma M sent a cute Eric Carle book about a chameleon, with a matching chameleon stuffed animal, which we had him open on his actual birthday. He also got another Duplo set from us.

While we didn't throw any big party, I'd say this boy had a pretty darn decent birthday. I am not sure he's touched many of his other toys since getting all of these for his birthday. They were all perfect for him.

It's still weird to me that Chase is 2. It seems like yesterday he was a baby, and now we have another baby. Where does the time go? Chase has such a big personality, which does present his challenges, but he makes life so fun. I think he is growing up to be quite the tease. We are so glad you are part of our little family, Chase!

What a FUN celebration. It looks perfect! I'm glad he's enjoying everything so much. It looks like a good variety, so I'm sure that helps keep his attention longer. The Cars duplo set looks awesome! My mom gave Alex a Toy Story 3 duplo set and it has been pretty fun, too. What cool toys we have these days.

He is such a fun young man. I feel so luck to be a grandmother to all my delightful grandchildren.
